This article is a result of self-reflection at the end of the year 2023. While self-reflecting on my journey, I found something very powerful. I observed that since I have applied stoicism principles into my life, It has changed significantly in a positive way and then I decided to write this article on how stoicism changed my life!

I am going to share the seven transformative ways, how stoicism changed my life and I am sure, It is the ancient solution to the modern problems of our generation!

Transformation #1: Embracing the Dichotomy of Control

Before my introduction to stoicism, I was a constant overthinker. I used to worry about everything in my life.

One of the most liberating Stoic concepts is the dichotomy of control. It asks us to draw a clear line between what we can influence (our thoughts, actions, and reactions) and what we can’t (external events, other people’s actions, and uncontrollable circumstances).  This concept, when applied, instantly brought peace to my life.

Imagine this line like a sturdy fence around your inner garden. When anxieties about external factors like traffic jams or bad weather threaten to invade your peace, you can simply remind yourself, “This lies outside my fence. I can choose how I react to it, but I can’t control the event itself.”
